1. Origin: SV181 is fragrant, short duration, high quality and yielding rice variety that is recognized by MARD as national variety since 2017. Rice variety SV181 is bred, produced and distributed by Quangbinh One Member Seeds Limited Company.

2. Variety characters

- Duration: short duration as following:

- This is dwarf rice variety, plant height is 95 - 105 cm, well growing, hard and big stubble, well fallen resistance, well branches, straight leaves with pale green color. Big head, well heading, closing spikes, closing seeds, number of seeds per head is 160–180. Low rate of immature seeds 10 - 14%, rounded seeds, bright yellow husk, 1000 seeds weight is 23 - 24gam.

- Stable yielding 75 - 90 quintal/ha.

- High quality of rice, fragment, tender, tasty.

- Rather well for cold resistance, good for intensive farming, good resistance for falling.

- Wide range adaptable, suitable for production Northern part, Central coastal region and highland provinces. Suitable for Winter Spring and Summer Autumn seasons in many kinds of lands.

3. Production instruction

3.1. Lands: Suitable on many kinds of lands.

3.2. Timing: Based on local directions, can be reference as below:

- Northern part to Nghean provinces: Spring broadcasting during 25^th January to 10^th of February, transplanting seedlings when 3-3.5 leaves (hard yard), 4- 4.5 leaves (mud yard). Summer Autumn broadcasting during 20^th of May to 10^th of June, transplanting when seedlings have 12-15 days. Plant density is 50- 55 brushes /m², 2-3 seedlings/brush. Seed rate for 1ha is 40- 45 kg.

- Ha Tinh-Thua Thien Hue: Winter Spring broadcasting during 5^th–20^th February, Summer Autumn during 25^th May to 10^th of June. Seed rate for 1ha is 80 - 90 kg.

- Central Coastal region and Highlands: Winter Spring broadcasting during 5^th-20^th January, Summer Autumn broadcasting during 20^th of May to 5^th of June.

3.3. Fertilizers: Rice variety SV181 is short duration so that to get the high yield it need to be fertilized balance, first application soon. The fertilizer dose is based on the soil types and cultivation practices for balance application as the ration: 90 - 110 N, 70 - 80 P₂O₅, 70 - 80 K₂O.

3.4. Cultivation: Water level is controlled based on the growth period of the rice, gap filling in time, first fertilizer application soon for early branches and concentrated, balance growing and developing, water must be available for heading to reduce the immature seeds.

3.5. Pest Controlled: Farm visit frequency to find out and control in time of the pests as the direction of the local Plant Protection Departments.
